The Durafit Heavy Hike 2.5 HP Multifunctional Treadmill has quickly become one of the best selling treadmills in India for home use. But, what are its features, what are its specifications, who is it designed for, and most importantly, should you buy it, aka the review of the Durafit Heavy Hike Treadmill.
Understanding Your Needs
All treadmills are not made equal, and each treadmill is made for a specific purpose and a specific set of people. A treadmill that is designed only for walking cannot be used for running. Similarly, a treadmill designed for light people will not perform when used by heavy people.
That is why, it is first important to understand what your needs are, and then decide if the Durafit Heavy Hike fits those needs. In our treadmill buying guide, we’ve covered all of these questions that you should ask yourself before purchasing a treadmill.
Let us discuss the features of the Durafit Heavy Hike 2.5 HP Treadmill.
Durafit Heavy Hike 2.5 HP Treadmill Features and Specifications
Delivery and Installation
The delivery and installation is a big part of purchasing a treadmill. If it can’t be delivered to you in the first place, what is the use of it? Also, if the installation is tough, then the chances of making mistakes are high, and improperly installed treadmills can lead to injuries.
For the Durafit Heavy Hike, the treadmill is shipped in a 90% installed state and can be completely installed in under 30 mins. If you get stuck during installation, then you can contact support, and they will help you over the phone. If you prefer to have it installed by a professional, then you can opt-in for that as well for a small fee. But, the installation can take quite some time in that case.
Durafit Heavy Hike Treadmill Physical Features

Once the installation is done, you will notice that the Durafit Heavy Hike’s frame is made out of steel. The overall weight of the treadmill is also around 60 kgs, which is quite heavy for a treadmill this size. But, the higher weight has its advantages as it makes the Durafit Heavy Hike stable and secure.
Let’s talk about design. The Durafit Heavy Hike has a foldable design with a hydraulic un-fold mechanism. This makes the treadmill easy to store, access, and use.
The Durafit Heavy Hike is an electric, motorized treadmill. That means it needs electricity to operate and has a motor that moves the treadmill belt for you to use it.
The motor inside the Heavy Hike has a 2.5 CHP rating, with a maximum output of 5 HP.
[note note_color=”#06F6C7″ text_color=”#000000″ radius=”5″]Think of the CHP as the average speed of your vehicle and the peak HP as the max speed. Just as you don’t drive your vehicle at max speed all the time, you won’t use your treadmill motor at the max capacity. That is why you always look at the CHP rating of the motor to judge if it is a good fit for your needs.[/note]The speed range this treadmill offers is 1 km/h to 16 km/h, which is quite good for walking, light jogging, and even running.
The maximum supported weight by the Durafit Heavy Hike is 120 Kgs.

The Durafit Heavy Hike has an auto-incline feature with 16 different levels, reaching up to a 15-degree incline overall, which is great for walking and running.

To keep your workout interesting and effective, the Durafit Heavy Hike has a 48 presets built-in. 24 of those programs are designed to work with incline, and the rest are compatible with a zero incline.
The workouts themselves are HIIT (High-intensity Interval Training) based, or target based. The HIIT is quite self-explanatory, and the target system follows a goal-oriented approach. Shock Absorption
Shock absorption is one of the key factors that everyone should look for in a treadmill, but it is still ignored by most people.
When you walk or run, you put a considerable amount of stress on your joints, especially on your knees. Without the proper cushion, your knees will start wearing out, and you will develop serious medical problems in the future.
Thankfully, the Durafit Heavy Hike has a dual shock absorption system. It uses a combination of Dura-spring tech and Gel cushion to protect your knees. The Dura-spring is a spring-based system, which keeps the base of the treadmill flexible, and the Gel cushion helps reduce the impact of running significantly.
[note note_color=”#06F6C7″ text_color=”#000000″ radius=”9″]Because of the excellent shock absorption system, the Durafit Heavy Hike can be used comfortably by the elderly as well.[/note]Durafit Heavy Hike Maintenance
The most important maintenance activity for a treadmill is the lubrication. The Durafit Heavy Hike is a manual lubrication treadmill. That means you have to manually lubricate it using the included silicon oil. It is not ideal, but the actual lubrication process is quite easy and needs to be done only once every 6 months or so.
Durafit Heavy Hike Warranty
Warranty is another important aspect to consider when purchasing a treadmill. Durafit Treadmills have a 1-year warranty on parts, a 3-year warranty on the motor, and a lifetime warranty on the frame. The warranty itself is excellent, and the 3-year warranty on the motor is the icing on the cake.

The warranty on the parts and motor is a door-stop warranty, so you don’t even have to take on the hassle of going to a service center to get your treadmill fixed.

Extremely bad quality of parts….the frame, especially, is flimsy & developed crack in 1.5 yrs. The treadmill is advertised as120 kg load bearing capacity & my son who is 88 kgs uses it.
Their technician who came in to replace was quite candid about 02 particular things about the products of Durafit
1. Frame is hopelessly bad quality…advised me to visit any store to check the frame of a 120 kg load bearing machine.
2. Parts are made of bad quality plastic & ofter break on slighest of impacts which is not the case of with many other company products.
Looking to sell off this hopeless machine & buy a decent one.
It’s advisable to avoid such low quality product
Don’t buy this Durafit treadmill…the frame quality is hopelessly bad & flimsy.
Getting a replacement is a sure-shot nightmare thanks to pass the buck game that the company has mastered the art of.
Their own visiting mechanics will wholeheartedly confirm the fact.
Take some pain, go to a store, see & purchase.
Don’t make the mistake I have already made & paying dearly for it.
Hopeless product….third class built quality.
Unprofessional, irritating & “passing the buck” strategy followed by Customer Service.
My personal advice is pay a couple of thousand more (if required) but buy a decent product, if you want peace of mind.
